Published by Mark Smith-HalvorsenPeople hoping to spend some travel money on a trip overseas could head to the city of Accra to experience the shopping on offer there.According to sales and marketing director at dmAFRICA Alan Brown, there are plenty of items available to choose from."Shopping in markets is fun. Prices are negotiable, you barter. The markets of Accra and other large cities are open every day," he said.Mr Brown added people might find it "more enjoyable" to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head to market in a country town, where they will be able to find "fabric, beads, musical instruments and even CDs" in addition to standard goods. His comments follow the recent Wanderlust Travel Awards - recognising destinations visited by relatively few people but enjoyed by those who do - which saw Ghana named in sixth place in the Top Emerging Destination category. For competitive rates and commission free travel money, visit our Travel FX site
